Darvocet Description - Why is Darvocet prescribed?
Darvocet is also known by the generic name Acetaminophen/Propoxyphene and also by the brand name Trycet. Darvocet is a widely used pain reliever prescribed to treat mild to moderate pain.
Darvocet Indications
Darvocet should not be used if you are allergic to any ingredient in Darvocet. You should also not use more Darvocet than your health care professional prescribed. By doing so, you may cause serious and sometimes fatal side effects. You should also not use Darvocet if: you have a history of depression or other mental/mood problems such as suicidal thoughts or actions; had any injury to your head; had any growths or increased pressure on your brain; if you drink alcohol regularly or in excess; or if you have had stomach or bowel problems or have had surgery of the stomach or bowel. Some medicines can interact negatively with Darvocet, including (but not limited to) anticoagulants such as warfarin, Cimetidine, HIV protease inhibitors such as ritonavir, isoniazid, Naltrexone, anticonvulsants such as carbamazepine, antidepressants such as amitriptyline or fluoxetine, barbiturate anesthetics such as thiopental, sodium oxybate (GHB) or any medicines that may harm the liver such as methotrexate or ketoconazole.

Common side effects of Darvocet include constipation, dizziness or drowsiness, stomach pain, headaches, nausea or vomiting.
