Why is this medication prescribed
Furazolidone is used to treat infectious diarrhea and enteritis caused by bacteria or protozoans.

Other uses for this medicine
Furazolidone is also used in combination with fluids for treatment of acute infantile diarrhea. Furazolidone is also used to treat traveler's diarrhea, cholera, and bacteremic salmonellosis. Talk to your doctor about the possible risks of using this medicine for your condition.
