Why is Orencia Prescribed?
Orencia is used to treat rheumatoid arthritis. In children over 6 years old, Orencia is used to treat moderately to severely active Polyarticular Juvenile Idiopathic Arthritis.
Orencia helps to reduce the signs and symptoms of arthritis. Orencia also slows the progression of damage to the joints and to improve physical function.
Orencia is usually prescribed after other rheumatoid arthritis have failed.

Possible Orencia side effects for children and adults include headache, sore throat, upper respiratory tract infection and nausea.
